The Fires of Ork
A 10 track ambient album (1h 59m 20s) — released June 22nd 2018 on Biophon Records (Norway)
The Fires Of Ork was a collaboration project between the late Pete Namlook (1960-2012) and Geir Jenssen (aka Biosphere). They recorded two albums together, The Fires Of Ork in 1993 and The Fires Of Ork 2 in 2000. This reissue contains both albums.
Discogs: "Under the moniker THE FIRES OF ORK Jenssen and Namlook in 1993 combined their talents. During a two-week session in Frankfurt they composed a magnificent self-titled album, a magnum opus that ranges in tone from soothing to haunting, from dark to playful. The title track (appearing in two versions) was also released on a 12-inch which, just as the album, culled rave reviews everywhere. The name "The Fires of Ork" is taken from Roy Batty's monologue at the end of the 1982 movie 'Blade Runner', as sampled on the first album by the duo."
Pardon my lack of eloquence, suffice it to say this album is utterly fantastic. I've been trying to track it down for literally years and finally succeeded. It's well worth all the effort. It's simply amazing. What can I really say, musically, about the collaboration of two of ambient electronic music's greatest producers?
Listening to this album conjures up fantastic mental images, and you won't want the journey to end. I'm sure every person who's listened to this has had their own unique experience with it. I doubt I'll ever get tired of listening to it. The packaging should come with a warning label, "Fires of Ork" is addictive and mind-altering.

The Fires Of Ork was the first collaboration between Pete Namlook and Geir Jenssen (aka Biosphere) and has since risen to legendary status in the ambient electronic scene as the first meeting of these two masters. Their common love for classical music as-well as dark ambient trance resulted in a unique combination of style that you could expect when you mix the essence of their "Silence" with "Biosphere".

It's one of the most eerie, spooky "ambient") albums, easily ranking alongside Throbbing Gristle, Eno's Ambient IV, and Infinite Body. - Dylan O´Brian Amazon
I definately rank this up there with my favourite amibeint/electronica records such as UFOrb (Orb) and Geogaddi (BOC). - David A Wilson Amazon
